No physical noise monitors are installed at JPX. All noise values shown are modeled estimates from aircraft reference-noise data by aircraft type: helicopters at a 1,000 ft reference (NASA flight-test data for eight common types), jets from certification readings in EPNdB, and fixed-wing aircraft from certification values in dB(A).
Actual ground-level noise varies with altitude, distance, flight path, and atmospheric conditions. These estimates provide directional guidance but should not be treated as measured values.
